Non-destructive Testing Technician

We are looking for a Full-time Staff Non-destructive Testing Technician to join the team in Auckland. 

Auckland Welding School is a locally owned company based in Auckland, NZ, that provides welding inspections, non-destructive testing, EWP inspections, and statutory equipment inspections of pressure equipment and cranes. We aim to supply professional independent inspection services with integrity and honesty promptly.

 We are looking for a Full-time Staff Non-destructive Testing Technician to join the team in Auckland.

Job Duties of Non-destructive Testing Technician

·         Perform non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to detect defects

·         Interpret, evaluate and document test results

·         Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment

·         Prepare, organise and write detailed reports on inspection results

·         Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times

·         Confer with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential issues and preventative measures

·         Required to use specialised inspection methods such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, visual,

·         Handle and properly use inspection tools and equipment

·         Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends, new technology, and ongoing research

·         Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated regularly

What we need:

·         PCN NDT Level II as per ISO 9712 in Ultrasonic testing and Magnetic Particle testing

·         ASNT NDT Level II in Ultrasonic test, Magnetic Particle test, Dye Penetrant test, Radiographic test and Certified Welding Inspector

·         Certified MIG welder as per AS/NZS ISO 2980 : 2018 

·         Certified Internal Auditor as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

·         Hold relevant diploma to work as an NDT Technician

·         2-3 Years of relevant work experience can substitute the qualification requirement.
